THEME NIGHT COLLECTIONS
Lunar New Year
-Designed by Julie Dang-
"2024 is the year of the dragon, and I wanted to incorporate that in a big way in the main crest of the jersey, I was fixated by this idea of a dragon coming down from the sky and a shark jumping out of the sea. with the two meeting in the middle. The style and colors of the piece were influenced in part by Vietnamese folk art, mixed in with my love of dynamic lines and shapes." -J.D
Los Tiburones
-Designed by Luis Guadado-
Luis's crest is inspired by the Mexican flag. The flag holds a strong symbolic meaning to Luis, so he took the imagery of the eagle biting the snake and reimagined it with a shark. The Shark is representative of both his Mexican and San Jose roots. The snake has many different meanings in Mexican culture. It is a representation of the struggle between good and evil. It symbolizes Quetzalcoatl and also serves as imagery associated with Mother Earth.
Women of Teal
-Designed by Berni Palavecino Prado-
"As seen in most of my work, I love incorporating plant life into my artwork. This illustration depicts two sharks swimming in a symmetrical pattern which not only represents symbiotic movements between teammates on the ice also the hunting behaviors that sharks display in nature." - B.P
Pride Night
-Designed by Arely Cardenas-
Arely's crest depicts the shark pushing through an ice barrier with fury revealing who they are, and proudly wearing their stripes. The three hockey sticks laid on top of one another represent the supportive LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
Black History Month
-Designed by Corbrae Smith-
The crest is meant to reference a time in the black community where music was again used as a form of survival. "Hip Hop not only changed the world, but it completely changed the trajectory of so many lives." -C.S
