Behind the Logo: Designed by Luis Guadado
Luis's crest is inspired by the Mexican flag. The flag holds a strong symbolic meaning to Luis, so he took the imagery of the eagle biting the snake and reimagined it with a shark. The Shark is representative of both his Mexican and San Jose roots.
The Nopal (cactus) is a symbol you can see throughout Mexican culture and cuisine, but also a symbol that Luis associates with his own grandmother's garden. The snake has many different meanings in Mexican culture. It is a representation of the struggle between good and evil. It symbolizes quetzalcoatl, and also serves as imagery associated with mother earth.
